Rev. Fred Antwine

Elder Frederick C. Antwine was born in Los Angeles, California the fourth of six children. He received his early education in the Los Angeles public school system. After graduating High School he attended Grambling State on a Basketball scholarship, majoring in Business Marketing. Following college he enlisted in the U.S. Navy, where he served his country for five and a half years. He married Diane Machabie Antwine in 1979 and is the father of two daughters and two grandchildren. In 1988, Rev. Antwine answered the call to the gospel ministry and was ordained in 1990, under the leadership of Rev. Dr. Bobby Cain. He attended Golden Gate Baptist Theological seminary, in Brea, CA, receiving Diploma in Theology.

Rev. Antwine served as interim Pastor of Central Baptist church, in Long Beach, CA for four years where the congregation increased annually under his leadership.

Rev. Antwine joined the New Philadelphia A.M.E. church family in 2001, under Sr. Pastor Sherman A. Gordon and in 2002 entered AME Board of Examiners program. He was ordained a Local Elder in the African Methodist Episcopal church in 2004, under Bishop John R. Bryant. He then began serving New Philadelphia as Pastor of Men’s Ministry. Rev. Antwine has a passion for helping & teaching people and continues to work diligently with the Pastor in various areas of the church.
