Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated, Mu Epsilon Omega Chapter, Orange County, California and the Lambda Sigma Chapter, University of California, Irvine presents the Emerging Young Leaders Conference, for 6th – 8th grade girls. The conference will be held on Saturday, November 10th, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., New Philadelphia AME Church, Children Church area. The program is designed to extend the vision of the sorority by cultivating and encouraging high scholastic achievement through: 1) Leadership Development, 2) Educational Enrichment, 3) Civic Engagement, and 4) Character Building. The Emerging Young Leaders Program will develop skills and talents of middle school girls with potential for becoming leaders within their local communities, as well as in other venues. The 88th Session of the Southern California Annual Conference is approaching. As the host church pastor, Rev. Walker will give his report to the Bishop and the Conference on Wednesday, October 24, 2012 at approx. 3:00 p.m. All members are asked to come and stand with the Pastor as he reports. The Conference is held at the Sheraton Gateway Hotel, 6101 W. Century Blvd., Los Angeles. If you are interested in going on the bus, please signup in the Foyer.
There will be one service only, at 9:00 a.m., on Sunday, October 28th. The Conference Closing Service will begin at 3:00 p.m. To those who wish to remain here after our early service, the Culinary Committee will be selling dinners.
