Purpose of this Organization:
To add to the beauty and glory of the spiritual service’s by putting God first as we develop for display the call to worship, scripture, announcements and to provide both video and audio tape church services for church members and radio ministry.
Bereavement Committee
Purpose of this Organization:
To console of bereaved families through prayer, cards of sympathy and encouragement, telephone calls and visitation. To assist the families during their time of need. People do like to talk about death and dying, therefore they shun away from activities dealing with death. Our goal is to develop strategies to encourage people to get involved in the committee.

Children’s Nursery Ministry
Purpose of this Organization:
Continue to encourage awareness of the love of God through biblical teachings, building positive play skills, singing Christian music, participating in Arts and Crafts; and to encourage good behavior skills with other children. We prepare boys and girls, ages 4 and older to enter into the Children’s Church.

Community Outreach Ministry
Purpose of this Organization:
Keep New Philadelphia AME Church name recognition alive throughout the communities of Carson, Compton, Long Beach and outlining areas. We canvass communities to invite others to the New Philadelphia AME Church worship experience.

Purpose of this Organization:
We are experts in the field of medicine, so we inform and enhance the awareness of members knowledge of the different chronic diseases in African-Americans and to provide first aide to members during church services. The taking of blood pressure, flu shots, and make available CPR classes for the membership.

Purpose of this Organization:
To continue to promote the recognition of the Lay and our commitment to making a difference within the church. Promote attendance in New Members Classes so that members will develop an understand of what African Methodism is and how it supports the functioning of the Lay within the local church up through the connectional church. Each year, we strive to make the Lay Organization better than it was the year before!

Men In Action (MIA)
Purpose of this Organization:
M.I.A. is dedicated to providing support to our seasoned saints, women and youth and their related ministries. Furthermore, M.I.A. strive to minister to its men by providing moral and spiritual support as well as providing opportunities for fellowship outside of the normal Sunday worship experience. The M.I.A. avails itself to a particular demographic (seasoned saints, women, children and men) within the church during the four fiscal quarters of the year. During the first quarter (January through March) our focus is directed to assisting when requested with the endeavors of our Seasoned Saints. During the second quarter (April through June) our focus is directed to assisting with the endeavors of our Women. The third quarter (July through September) is the Men’s quarter where focus on addressing issues related to our men and salient/relevant topics for today’s Christian man. The final/fourth quarter is devoted to our children.

To provide publicity and marketing of the church to the membership and the community. Some of the jobs include, but limited to bulletin redesign, creating brochures for each organization, E-blast promotions and other projects as assigned.

Purpose of this Organization:
Members of New Philadelphia AME Church are 55 and older, who are committed to support one another mentally, physically and spiritually, to promote social activities for seniors; to assist other ministries of our church when asked; to reach out to the community serving those in need. We mentor and support our young adults and financially support the church.
Stewardess Organization
Purpose of this Organization:
The women are servants of the most high God, persons of good character and in good standing in the AME Church. Our purpose is to provide assistance to Stewards as required with Holy Communion and Holy Baptism. We prepare the Communion trays, clean the linen used for dressing the Communion table, polish the utensils, dress the alter and pulpit with clean paraments for the various seasons of the Christian year, for funerals and for memorials. We also prepare the sacraments for Holy Baptism and provide and clean the linen used during Holy Baptism. We attend funeral and memorial services and assist with the needs of the Pastor and the family in mourning. Additionally, we have the responsibility of preparing the communion for the ministerial staff to give to those who are sick and shut-in. The board also tends to the needs of the Pastor and his family and the ministerial staff during worship service. Some of the board members usually travel to the various churches to provide for the needs of the Pastor during worship service when he preaches.

Purpose of this Organization:
Mission Statement – “Learning, Living, and Loving God’s Word.” To have a teacher training workshop and prepare for VBS to be held in July. To continue to encourage all ages to come out and study God’s Word.
Teen Church Ministry
Purpose of this Organization:
To prepare the youth for service within our church. We build character, self-worth, self-esteem, and a positive self-image; to encourage the youth to become the best men and women God has created them to be. We teach the youth biblical principles by getting back to the basics using the word of God.

Purpose of this Organization:
We can help save lives and change lives by providing a safe place for individuals who are like-minded by sharing the word of God. Provide a local support network for persons who are experiencing the challenges of their addictions. A location where people can be heard, helped, communicate, and discover how God can change their lives in a loving environments. To help and assist those afflicted with various addictions. Meeting with Prison Ministry to go inside prisons and minister to the prisoners.
Women Missionary Society - 3rd Saturdays @ 10:00am

We believe in the New Philadelphia AME Church vision “to be God’s church known globally, through our Godly work done locally,” and we take the WMS Mission statement seriously. “We are called to strengthen our faith and sent to continue the ministry of Jesus Christ by service and witness in the world.”

Purpose of this Organization:
The purpose of the New Philadelphia AME Worship Arts Ministry is to motivate and develop those who the Lord has called to be part of the music ministry by hosting spirit-filled, leadership retreats, ministry workshops, and ministry socials. We provide meaningful and inspirational music for the worship services, through ministry engagements and for outreach opportunities. Set a standard of excellence in worship and music ministry. Provide a common ground of fellowship, spiritual growth and ministry for all members of the ministry. Accomplishment of this mission depends on the commitment of each team member. All aspects are equally important. Our combined commitment and concern will result in an effective music ministry.

Purpose of this Organization:
“For a day in thy courts is better than a thousand elsewhere… I would rather be a doorkeeper in the House of my God than to dwell in the tents of wickedness.”Psalm 84:10
Church Ushers are Doorkeepers and the House of God and are to see that perfect order is kept in and around the Church at all times during worship service. Ushers prepare the church for worship service and see that the church is in proper condition to receive its guest. They see that fans, church literature, collection envelopes and any other items that are needed are in its proper place and available whenever needed for its guest. Ushers meet and greet the worshippers, making every attempt to help them feel welcome and at ease with a warm and pleasant smile, and directing them to comfortable seats. Ushers also assist with Holy Communion and overseer with Church offerings.
Ushering is an opportunity to come closer to the Lord’s work. Because one is doing the Lord’s work in the lord’s House, and the Usher who consecrates to the job performs with grace and selflessness.
